KNOWLEDGE TRULY IS POWER!

The 'Knowledge Is Power: Donate to Educate' fundraising campaign is aiming to raise $1 million to sustain an entire year of NATIONWIDE* airing via satellite television on America's top-rated news programs. Fox News, CNN, MSNBC and many other channels will broadcast 1 minute television spots during prime-time viewing, an estimated 5,000 times.

Our unique television Public Service Announcements (PSA's) educate 100 million Americans on the ramifications of the Israeli occupation and the deteriorating Palestinian human rights conditions, the roots of the current conflict in the Middle East.

Only $100,000 is needed for the first phase of this project, to launch the campaign in the first weeks of August. We urgently need your support to make this goal a reality and help Americans imagine life without basic human rights.

Donate Now! and invest in educating 100,000,000 Americans, opening hearts and minds to a people, a region and a growing crisis.

In light of the escalating violence that threatens the Middle East and world at large, we call on you to support our initiatives that address the root causes of these destabilizing factors. There is a tremendous need for a comprehensive and long-standing, multi-faceted educational initiative. Otherwise, the current level of misunderstanding and intolerance between the East and West will only deteriorate further. It is our belief that a greater understanding will counter the prevalent dehumanization of an entire region and the inadvertent acceptance of substandard human rights, entitled to all people.

* The spots will be available nationally on Dish Network and DirecTV.

Please note: PSA's that display the Occupation 101 logo at the beginning of each clip feature promotional footage and interviews from the award-winning documentary film "Occupation 101: Voices of the Silenced Majority", a powerful and thought-provoking film which examines the current and historical root causes of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. LATEST NEWS:

Israeli-Palestinian Conflict:

As the violence continues to escalate between Palestine and Israel, diplomacy and Palestinian human rights are threatened. Palestinians not only suffer under the illegal Israeli military occupation but also due to our silence. The entire world has come to know the name and face of the kidnapped Israeli soldiers and yet the dozens of innocent Palestinian civilians who have been killed or injured due to the Israeli artillery barrage remain faceless and unknown.

As Martin Luther King Jr. eloquently stated, "Injustice anywhere, threatens justice everywhere." Imagine-Life works towards a vision in which people of all races, creeds, and ethnicities co-exist in an atmosphere of mutual respect, cooperation, and understanding. No life or individual is worth more than another. We must demand the safety of ALL lives for human rights are rights that are deemed to belong to all people as such, that is, by virtue of their humanity.

Darfur:

According to the U.S. Department of State, Sudan Country Reports on International Religious Freedom—2005, states, "...The north/south civil war caused an estimated 2 million deaths; approximately 4 million have been displaced internally as a result of fighting between the Government and insurgents in the south." Human Rights Watch concludes since February 2003, some 1,800,000 people have been internally displaced by militia forces, losing their homes and livelihoods.

Democratic Republic of Congo:

There is a non-existent global awareness of the magnitude of the Congo crisis. A recent survey conducted by the International Rescue Committee (IRC), concluded the following: by April 2004 the conflict had cost the lives of nearly 3.9 million people; a total of over 2.2 million people are internally displaced; approximately 340,000 have fled the country as refugees. The alarming death toll is primarily due to malnutrition and a collapse of public health services.
